Pink Christmas

Went with some non-traditional colors for this Christmas card.  Here is my take on this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch.

The pink and blue snowflake were heat embossed using silver EP.  Then sponged on some distressed ink. The banner and sentiment were heat embossed using clear EP, then sponged on some ink.  The snowflake under the banner was die cut then I added some homemade glitter glue.  If you look close you can see some small white snowflakes on the background paper.  A few sequins to finish it off.

A Child is Born

Another Christmas card done! Used Unity's  Itty Bitty A Child is Born and MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch to create this square Christmas card.

MFTWSC147
It looks much better in person.  The rays were sponges on in gold metallic ink and the the panel was spritz with glimmer mist so it has more sparkle than the picture shows.  Used Distressed inks to sponge the sentiment banner and the manger.  Added a brad and gold perfect pearls for the star.
Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment, I love to hear from you!
Have a happy and blessed weekend.

Little Sprout!

The Hambo Hoedown challenge was to create a baby themed card using a non-traditional image.  So the first thing I did was search for a synonym for baby and child.  One of the synonyms was "sprout", which then brought this Bear Farmer image to mind.  Since I hadn't played with this image yet I was happy to use it.
The sentiments were created on the computer.  The image is colored with prisma color pencils.  I hand dyed the seam binding using distressed ink.

Happiest Anniversary

Used Oct. Week 3 Viva la Verve sketch to create this anniversary card.
In honor of breast cancer awareness month I went pink.
Not much stamping on this one, the sentiment is from Unity.  Used dies and my Swiss dot embossing folder to create the circle/heart elements. Hand stitched the X's.  Used my Tombow runner, Aqua mono glue, and glue pen to adhere the papers, pearls and die cuts to the card base.
Oct. 17th was our 26th wedding anniversary. Time sure flies when you're having fun (and when you're married to the love of your life!)  God has blessed us!
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet! God bless!

You're a Hoot!

Played with some Paper Smooches freebies to create this little card.  The image and layout are both from Paper Smooches.

OctoberDD

I created the night sky with gelatos and water.  Loved how it turned out.  The gelato had seeped under my mask for the moon, so I added some gesso to cover it up and create a little bit of texture.  The owl is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I don't usually put a lot of bling on my cards, and I think I may have went overboard on this one!  Stepped a little too far out of my comfort zone!!  The feathers are also from the Paper Smooches Freebie page, the stars are from a paper punch and then a few sequins.  I think I should have left out a few of the sequins, what do you think?
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my little blog!  Please feel free to comment. God bless!!

Season of Joy

Used the sketch from Sketch Saturday to create another Christmas card.
The sentiment is from Verve Stamps, one of my favorites!  Cut the snowflakes with my Cricut then added some homemade glitter glue to make them sparkle.  Hand stitched the snowflake trails, but the white thread didn't show up very well on the patterned paper.

Twiggy Christmas Tree

Used one of my favorite Meljen's Designs images and this weeks Retro Sketch to create this Christmas card.
Added some silver Smooch to the snow, it doesn't show up very well in the picture.  Used liquid pearls and my gelly roll pen to added a little dimension and sparkle. Used distressed markers to color the image.

Yes, I do more than stamp!

Sharing a little of what keeps me busy besides stamping.  Yes, I do more than just stamp, even if my DH and kids don't believe it!
Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday!
Our apple trees are LOADED this year, so I am making some freezer apple pie filling.  I've never tried it before, so I will let you know how well it turns out.  It sure does smell good on this beautiful fall day.
Have a wonderful week! Blessings!

Fluttering Butterfly

Sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law.  Used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for my inspiration.
The twist this week was to use a fancy die.  I do not own very many dies, so I'm hoping this one is considered a  "fancy" one!  Last weekend I did the Simon Says Video hop on YouTube.  In Kristina Werner's video, she created an awesome suspension card.  So I decided to try my hand at a suspension card.  It is a fun technique and I will be trying this again!

Don't Look Back

Sending this card to my sister-in-law who is going through some really rough times right now.  Love this sentiment! Not too much stamping on this card.  The sentiment, the lacy border on the banner and the mini tag are all from Unity.
The sketch is from this week's Mojo Monday and the color combo is for this week's There She Goes color Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, and for the lovely comments! Have a great weekend! God bless!!

Snowy Evening

For WCMD, Flourishes challenged us to create a card using our state or province as inspiration.  I was just going to pass on this challenge because I didn't really know what to use to represent Indiana.  Then I started listing the state flower, bird, tree etc... when I realized I had just received a cute little bird die and had not had a chance to use it yet.  So, since the Indiana state bird is a cardinal, I thought I'd add to my Christmas cards with this little creation:

I cut the tree silhouette with my Cricut and added a little "snow" by adding a little Versamark with a cotton swab and then used Tinsel EP.  The snow banks were created with the MFT snow drift die. Sponged a little ink along the edge and then added some homemade stickles.  The wintry sky was created by blending some Distressed Inks.  The falling snow is Picket Fence distress marker.  Used Memory Box Resting Bird die for the cardinals (State bird of Indiana).  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark the embossed with white EP.  Attached the sentiment flag with foam tape, added a button tied up with red and white twine.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! God bless!!

Snowflake Holiday card

Since I am starting to work on this year's Christmas cards, I decided to play along with Flourishes Christmas with a Twist Challenge.  The challenge is to create a Christmas card without using red or green.  So I pulled out my Flourishes Holiday Sparkle set and started playing.  This is what I created:
Used my snowflake embossing folder for the background.  Stamped the snowflake image from the set in SU Baja Breeze.  Used a Spellbinder circle die to cut it out.  Used some scrap paper (sorry I do not know the brand or name) to cut my sentiment panel and the circle mat for the snowflake.  Stamped the sentiment from the set with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP.  Added some white and silver twine, a snowflake accent I received from my mother-in-law and a few sparkly gems.  I also misted the snowflake circle with some glimmer mist.  It doesn't show up to well in the picture.

Kittens!

Just a little post to show you our little orphan kittens.  We live on a farm and have always had some barn cats.  This summer a stray black cat showed up.  Wasn't long before we noticed she was expecting!  She had 5 kittens in mid-August.  2 weeks ago, she went missing, so my daughter and I have been busy being mama to these 5 little orphans.  Lucky for us they are old enough to drink and eat from a dish.  They seem to be growing and doing well on the kitten formula and canned cat food.  They do keep us busy!
They love to snuggle on my daughter's lap!

Christmas Stockings

Starting on my Christmas cards!  Used Unity's Hung by the Chimney Itty Bitty stamp (it's on sale this weekend, 51% off!) and Tuesday Morning Sketches, sketch #218 to create this card.
Colored the stocking with my Prismacolor pencils.  Added some Frosted Smooch to the white areas on the stockings to give them a little glitter.  Created a background with snowflakes and hearts before stamping the sentiment.  Inked the edges before adhering to the card base.  The stockings were fussy cut and popped up with foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks so much for the lovely comments.  God bless!!
