Time to say thank you!

Had a little constructive play time this weekend.  It's time to get the Christmas thank you cards made.  Used the sketch from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club and my new Berries stamp from Technique Tuesdays Greenhouse Society to create another Christmas thank you card.
MFTWSC156

Inked up the edges of my card base and the edges of my patterned paper with Gathered Twigs Distressed Ink.  Added some Old Paper Distressed ink to the doily for a vintage look.  Stamped my image on some textured card stock.  Added some white Prismacolor pencil and some Barn Door Distressed marker to the image.  Minimal coloring made for a quick card!  This simple image has quickly become one of my favorites! Cut a strip of patterned paper and strip of card stock.  Inked the card stock with Distressed ink and adhered it to the strip of patterned paper.  Stamped the sentiment then adhered the sentiment strip to the image panel.  Popped the panel up with foam tape to finish off the card.

TMS #230 Last Challenge for 2013

Happy Tuesday Morning! Merry Christmas Eve!
Today I am sharing the card I made for the last Challenge of 2013 for Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Before I go any further, I would like to apologize for the poor picture quality.  I received a new camera as a Christmas gift and I have a whole lot of learning to do!

Now, about the challenge; TMS Challenge #230 will be open for 2 weeks.  Things get a little crazy this time of year, so we're giving you some extra time to play along.  It is an anything goes challenge.  So there is no sketch to follow, no twist to add, just show us your creativity, maybe try something new!  Melissa has $10.00 Michael's gift card for the winner!

For my card, I went out of my comfort zone and made a one layer card.  I rarely make one layer cards, not sure why, but I don't.
I needed some Christmas thank you notes and I wanted to play with my Distress inks, so here is the result.

I used some sticky notes to mask off a strip in the center of the card.  I used Versamark ink and clear EP on the snowflakes.  I then used the emboss/resist technique and inked up the masked area with Tumbled Glass and Story Sky Distress Inks.  I stamped my sentiment then used my Scor Buddy to emboss a line above and below the image area.  Don't look to close, you will see where I embossed a little to far and went into the sentiment!  No bling, no glitter just a quick little CAS card!

For more inspiration be sure to visit the rest of the TMS Design Team.

Hope you find a little time to play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches!
Wishing you have a very Merry Christmas!  God bless you in the new year!

TMS #229

Happy Tuesday! Time for another challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Melissa has another fun sketch for you to play with this week, and we have another awesome sponsor - Sweet and Sassy Stamps!!

For this weeks card I used Sweet and Sassy's set "Born this Day".  I love this set, not only does it have this adorable manger image, it has lots of Christmas greetings and sentiments! I used Distress markers and a water brush to create a soft, watercolor look.  Die cut the star from gold foil paper and popped it up with a foam square.  Embossed the blue panel, die cut the bottom edge of the light craft panel. The gold embossed craft paper is from DCWV.  The greeting was stamped on a banner die cut then popped up by scoring and folding each end of the banner.  Now to get this card in the mail! Yes, I'm late again this year!!

I hope you take the time to play along this week, we look forward to seeing what you create! (and you could win a great prize from Sweet and Sassy Stamps!)

Greatest Gift

Quick little post to share another Christmas card.  You may recognize the layout, it's Tuesday Morning Sketches #228.  Great sketch for making a few last minute Christmas cards.

Used Sassy Cheryl's Image "The Perfect Christmas Gift".  Colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Added some Stickles to the star for added sparkle.  Applied some Liquid Applique to create "snow".  A little sponging and stitching, a seam binding bow and a snowflake and another card ready to go!
So sorry for the poor picture quality, had to take the picture at night.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a blessed week!

TMS 228. Snowman or Jingle Bells

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It's time for another fun challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches!  This week we have a judged challenge so be sure to use a snowman and/or jingle bells on your creation!  To be eligible for this weeks prize, you must use the twist.  This week we are sponsored by Yours and Mine Paper Crafts.

Isn't this a fun sketch!

This is a great sketch to use for a few last minute Christmas cards.  I colored my snowman with Prismacolor pencils.  I added some Glossy Accents to the star and some glitter for the snow.  I used Staz-on ink to stamp the sentiment on the ribbon. A little paper piercing, some inking around the panel edges and a holly leaf brad to finish off the card.
Now go dig out a snowman stamp and/or some jingle bells from your stash and come play along with us at TMS!  REMEMBER TO USE THE TWIST TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE:)

You Are Old!

Made a birthday card for my brother-in-law with some of my Unity goodness.  Used this month's Be Inspired sketch to create this vintage birthday card.

Used Consider Yourself Vintage and You are Worth It to create this card.  Used my diamond plate embossing folder on the teal squares and added some Vintage Photo distress ink around all the layers.
Spritz the newsprint panel with Walnut stain.
Pretty quick and easy.
Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you have a blessed weekend.

Born in a Manger

Sharing a card I made using sketch # 9 from Seize the Sketch.  Played with my newest stamps from Sweet and Sassy, Music Background and Born this Day.

Used Versamark to stamp the Music Background and then embossed with clear EP.  Used Iced Spruce Distress Ink and the emboss/resist technique to create the background panel.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Used my Gelli pen to add sparkle to the star.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.
May the love of a tiny baby, born in a manger, fill your heart with joy this Christmas season!
Thanks for stopping! God bless!

Star of Wonder

Welcome back to another Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge!  Hope everyone had a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!  We enjoyed a quiet family dinner, very relaxing and enjoyable.
Everyone survive the Black Friday craziness?  I opted to stay home and do a little Internet shopping.
Onto this weeks challenge!  Our sponsor this week is the totally adorable Stamp Fairy!  Head on over and check out all her super cute digital stamps, and double bonus, she is having a sale!!
For this weeks sketch I used Stamp Fairy's Barry Best Friends 1

.
This card has a lot of sparkle and shine that just doesn't show up in the picture.  The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils; I then fussy cut around the bears and ground.  I used Distress inks to create a night sky.  Adhered the image cut out to the "sky" panel, then used a circle die to cut it all out.  Layered my image circle onto a circle of silver card stock.  Added a die cut star, some gelly roll pen dots to resemble other stars and embossed the ground with "snow" using my versamark marker and white tinsel EP.  Used my Sizzix flourish die and pale blue vellum, a few star embellies and gems to create the corner flourish embellishment.  Embossed some blue shimmer paper with snowflakes and added a strip of silver ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you take time to play along with us this week at TMS!  I'd love to see how this weeks sketch inspires your!
