Oh Nuts!!

Good Tuesday Morning everyone!!
I hope you are ready for another great sketch and a fabulous sponsor!
This week we are sponsored by Doodle Pantry!!

Doodle Pantry takes pride in creating a diverse selection of doodling styles, like realistic or whimsical, and all of which are family and kid friendly illustrations.  We hope you enjoy our wide variety of styles for every family occasion!

On to the sketch!

I choose to use the squirrel from Doodle Pantry's Calendar Minis set to create a fun Belated Birthday card. (Yep, late again!)  Inside it says, I missed your birthday!
Found these cute wood veneer shaped buttons on a recent trip to Hobby Lobby.  Inked this one up with Distressed Inks before adding a bow and adhering it to the card.  A little bit of ric rac and twine finish off the card.
Now it's your turn.  Use this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch to create a card, link it up for a chance to win some wonderful Doodle Pantry images.
Check out what the rest of the DT did with this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Can't what to see what you create!

Tweet Christmas card!

Sharing a card I made using some incredibly cute Purple Onion stamps.
If you haven't heard already, Purple Onion is getting ready to release a new set of stamps from Stacey Yacula called A Charming Winter.
Head on over to the Purple Onion blog and check out the Charming Winter Giveaway.
Here is my very first Purple Onion card.

I used my watercolors to create this little winter scene.  Added some falling snow using texture paste and the falling snow stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

Close up of the little sentiment tag.  Can you see the snowflake behind the sentiment?

I will be sending this card to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  What a great cause!  Check it out HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
God bless!

Home - where the journey starts

Quick post so I can share a card I made for my son who just bought his first home!  So proud of him!
I am combining some awesome challenges today.
The sketch is from CAS(E) This Sketch and the topic from CASology!

I used Unity's Itty Bitty stamp called Begins at Home.  I stamped the house image in Versamark the stamped it on white card-stock and heat embossed it with clear EP.  Used some Distressed Ink to add the color to the image outline.  Quick and simple like a CAS card should be!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
God bless!!

Which witch is which?

Sharing a little Halloween card I created thanks to the sugar sketch over at Sugar Pea Designs.
SPDSS13

I used this cute little witch from Tiddly Inks.  The colors are not very "Halloweeny" because the current Tiddly Ink challenge is to use non-traditional Halloween colors.  I also tried to create a moon behind the witch using a circle die cut and some Distressed Inks.  After inking up the moon I flicked water onto the circle to give it a cratered look. (not sure is cratered is a word!)
I also finally used my spider web die I purchase on a going out of business clearance sale.  I added a little bit of confetti to make the wand appear to be zapping magic.

A Sweet Tuesday Morning Sketch!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Not only do we have a great sketch, but we have one of my favorite sponsors!
This week we are sponsored by Sweet and Sassy Stamps!
I have been a fan of Sweet and Sassy for a while now.  They have some really sweet stamps!
If your not familiar with them go check them out now then come back and play along!
Here is this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch!

I used Sweet and Sassy's Happy Happy stamp and die to create this fun little card! I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in the lower right hand corner before embossing it with my cloud embossing folder.  I stamped the sun and the clouds and the used the matching dies to cut them out! Colored the sun with Copics.  I am starting to dive into the world of Copic markers!  The clouds were sponged around the edges with some Distressed Ink.  A few little sequins make for a quick, fun card!
Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog today.
Be sure to visit the other DT members, they have some wonderful cards to share with you!

Snowflakes and Swirls

I've started making Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts card drive.
Here is one I created thanks to the October Week 3 Viva la Verve sketch.

I went with a softer color scheme.  I used Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass to ink up the scroll and the swirls behind the snowflakes.  Used the snowflakes from Verve's Merry and Bright set to create the silver embossed flakes.  The Merry Christmas is from Verve's Peace on Earth set. I used some Copic BG32 to color a few snowflake Dazzle stickers and a few iridescent gems.     I also spritzed the scroll with some glimmer mist.  In sparkles in real life!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a great week.
God bless!

TMS and DRS Christmas Card

Can you believe it's time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch?
We have a great sponsor this week, DRS Designs.  They have some amazing stamps so be sure to check the out!
This week is also a twist week, so be sure to work the twist into your card to be eligible for the prize!
The twist is "Holiday", any holiday will do, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Veteran's Day, your Birthday!  If you celebrate it, it's a holiday!!
Now for the sketch, check out all those fun layers!!

I used Holly Hurricane from DRS.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils then fussy cut the image and popped it up with foam tape.  I did add a little bit of shimmer to the berries and the flame.  Doesn't show up in the picture! :(
This is a great sketch to use up some of those scraps!
Check out the other Design Teams cards.  So much to celebrate!!

Copic Storage

I recently won a spot in the  On Line Card Classes - Copic Markers for Cardmakers.
I do not have many Copics, and rarely color with them.  Until this class I was just to unsure and intimidated by them.
I have learned a lot and have been practicing my blending, hopefully soon I will feel confident enough to share!
One of the classes was on maintenance and storage.
So today I am sharing my storage solution.
Yep, that's right! My storage solution is a .99 cent pencil box from Walmart!!
My collection is small enough to fit in one, and I still have room for a few more!
Yes, one day I dream of a whole craft room all to myself, one day when the kids are grown and on their own.  Until then I will treasure the time with my family and be happy with my little crafting corner and my little box of Copics!
Thanks for stopping by!
God bless!!

Splattered Thank You

My daughter needs a few thank you cards for her birthday, so I decided to try something new.
This is one of those times when it goes a lot better in your head than on the paper!!
Not happy with the results, but decided to share anyway.
Maybe someone has some helpful hints to share?!

I decided to join to CAS challenges....
CAS(E) this Sketch and
CASology

Here's my card!
Ugh!!

Ok, so I decided to try my hand and a cut-away card, using this heart border die (sorry I don't know who made the die!) After totally scrapping the first two tries, this is what I ended up with.  I've not done the splatter technique to often.  I've learned I need a lot bigger work space when I splatter!!  Very messy!!!

Needless to say, this is the only thank you card like this.  I will be making more but not like this!
I had lots of trouble adhering the heart border since it is so delicate.  If anyone has suggestions, please comment!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
God bless!!

Veteran Day and Verve

Getting my Veteran's Day cards done!  2 down, 6 more to go!
Thanks Viva la Verve for the awesome sketches!
Here's one using the Oct. Week 1 sketch.

And here is one using the Oct. Week 2 sketch.

Used Verve's American Hero set for both cards.

The pictures do not to the cards justice, they are so much better in real life.  Can't seem to get the colors to come through right. Ugh!

I love making Veteran's Day cards.  I will give them to my sister, to give to the Vets in a local retirement home.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Sunday and wonderful week!
God bless!

Veteran's Day and a Christmas card.

Thanks to CAS(E) this Sketch for some wonderful, much needed, inspiration.
I was able to create two cards, getting my mojo from sketch #95.

First up is a Christmas card I made using a Unity Itty Bitty stamp called O Holy Night.  I tried to create a night scene of the little town of Bethlehem by repeatedly stamping until I had a village. Added a glittery star and a few glitter dots to resemble a starry night.  Sharing this with Unity's Friends with Flair.
I also made a Veteran's day card.  The red/white stripes were created using a stencil and Distress Inks.  I used a star border die (I think it is from Memory Box, but am not sure!) and a sentiment from
Verve's American Hero set.  I die cut the star border twice, once in blue and once in silver.  I then layered some of the silver stars into the blue outline.

Thanks for stopping by my little blog! Would love it if you left a comment or followed (or both!).
God bless!

All Dressed Up and TMS

We had some amazing entries last week!  Who's ready to do it again this week!

We have a great sketch and a fabulous sponsor!  Our sponsor this week is All Dressed Up!
Hi I am Wendy Burns I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children who have been the inspiration behind the characters,  in particular my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with blogging and trends.  I work predominantly within the textile children’s wear market, fashion and interiors.

I trained as a textile designer and although my work is digital based, I love to retain that hand drawn /sewn feel which I hope comes across in my artwork.

Digital stamps is a new challenge for me and the opportunity to work with the All Dressed Up Team and has been very exciting, in particular the creative way my characters have been given individual personalities by the designers .

All Dressed Up is a newly launched blog with an enthusiastic team who are passionate about stamping.  The coordinators Marilyn and Tracy along with an amazing design team are also known as The Dressy Girls.
We have a friendly Facebook page, regular blog posts, tutorials, challenges and freebies .The stamps can be purchased from the Etsy shop which is updated on a monthly basis.

We really are friendly bunch and would love to see your creations so please feel free to contact us and visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog.

Now for the sketch....
Here is my card using the adorable image All Wrapped Up.
I had a lot of fun coloring this image with my PrismaColor pencils.  Love her dress and fun whimsy flowers!  The crochet flowers are from Stampin' Up.  I colored them with Distress inks and water.  Added a few leaves, pearls, sequins and the sentiment tag.  I think it ended up being a fun card to send to any age girl.
Want to see some more cuteness?  Go check out the other DT creations! Adorable!!
Melissa - Sorry life got it the way of creating! :(
