Flowers for Mom

May is not just Mother's Day, it is also my Mom's birthday month.  So I am sending her more flowers for her birthday!  Created this card using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

So usually I am lucky to make one card a week.  Between work and the family, it just doesn't leave much play time.  Especially now that spring is here and the weather is warmer.  I am feeling extremely lucky to post a second card this week.  I used my Sizzix Butterflies #3 stamps and die set for the flowers and butterfly.  The flowers are colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The butterfly is colored with gelatos (except the yellow, which is distressed marker) Die cut a Sizzix scalloped oval and inked it up lightly with SU Crumb Cake.  My diagonal strip is blue flowered washi tape and green ribbon.  Added a little "for you" tag tied on with black and white bakers twine and a few gems in the corner.

Cherish

Finally get to play with my new Unity Layers of Life set!  Love these stamps! My contribution to Friends with Flair Friday!  I created this card for my sister and brother-in-law who will be celebrating their 2nd Anniversary in a few weeks.

For the layout I used the sketch over at My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.

The craft card base was stamped with SU Canvas background stamp using SU Crumb cake ink.  I then stamped the measuring tape stamp in brown Memento to create the background on the blue card stock.  Stamped the sentiment in Fired Brick Distressed Ink.  My doily is misted with Walnut stain, but it is hard to see in the picture.  The fish tail banner and the heart were cut from some card stock I had in my stash.  Added a little wooden button accent.  The ribbon is Paper Studio ribbon I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  The ribbon is actually covering up some faux stitching I tried adding but I didn't like the way it turned out so I covered up!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.  God bless!!

Hero

Happy Mothers Day! Hope you get to play as much as you like today! I get to spend a little time playing, so I'm a happy Mom today!  Here is my take on the sketch over at Mojo Monday.

Created this card as a thank you to our veterans.  For the past few years I've been making cards for my sister who volunteers at a veterans home.  For veterans day she makes up care packages and delivers them to the veterans at the home.  A few years ago she asked me if I could make cards to go with the care packages.  Of course I said yes, I would be honored to.  So I am getting a head start on my cards this year. Thanks Mojo for the great sketch to play with! Thanks for taking time to stop by.  God bless!!

Mother's Day!

One down, one to go! Finished one of my Mother's Day cards! Nothing like waiting to the last minute.  Used colors from the color challenge at Flourishes.

The layer under the image looks more orange in the picture than it really is.  Probably due to my trying to photograph it at night.  I also used my new Flourishes stamp set, Garden Gate.

Stamped the image on some watercolor paper and cut it out with a SU die (sorry can't remember the name of the die set).  Then I used some Distressed markers to watercolor the image.  One of my first attempts at watercolor.  Love the look, but I really need more practice. Oh darn, that means more time crafting!  I'm sure my DH will understand!  Used Forest Moss Distressed Ink to ink up around the card base.  Embossed one side of the darker pink card stock with a Darice Flourish embossing folder.  Layered the card stocks together, added some ribbon and a bow.  Stamped the sentiment on some card stock, die cut it with another SU die and inked it up while it was still in the die.  Attached it with some foam tape and added a couple pearls.
Thanks for stopping by, God bless!!

Baby Congrats

Its a 100 sketch celebration over at Deconstructing Jen!  She is celebrating with a hop and a sketch challenge.  Loved the 100th sketch, so I thought I'd play along by making this card for my cousin.  She is due very soon.
The sentiment is from an old Hampton Arts stamp that I've had for years.  I've had it so long, I can't remember where I purchased it.  The duck pull top image is a digi I recently purchased from Meljens Designs during her half off sale.  I colored the digi with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The striped  background paper is from Authentique the rest is from my stash.  Inked up the edges, added some paper piercing and some zig zag stitches.  My stitches are done by hand since I do not have a sewing machine. Popped up the duck image with some foam squares.
Thanks for stopping by!  God bless!!

Unity Friends with Flair Friday!!

Playing along with Unity Friends with Flair Friday and MFT Wednesday Stamp club!
For my layout I used this weeks sketch over at My Favorite Things SCS Wednesday Stamp club forum.  Used Unity's set Blossom by Blossom for the roses and sentiment.  The roses I stamped with Versamark and then chalked the image in red and green.  Applied TH Distressed markers directly to the sentiment stamp.  On the circle behind the roses, I stamped Unity's dinged dots background with Color Box Mix'd Media ink in Honey and embossed with clear EP.  I then applied some Worn Lipstick Distressed Ink.  It's hard to see the dinged dots in the picture.  Colored some pearls with Copics to match the sentiment and added a little seam binding from Verve.

Golden Anniversary

Thanks Tuesday Morning Sketches for the awesome sketch!  Totally forgot about my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary! (shhh, don't tell!) Had to come up with a card, quick! Thankfully Tuesday Morning Sketches had this sketch up, so I took it and ran with it!
Everything for this card was bought at Joann's, except the sentiment stamp, which is an old DOTS stamp.  I think DOTS is now know as Close to My Heart.  The gold embossed paper and the gold foil paper, I bought 2 years ago for my Mom and Dad's Golden Anniversary.  I found the white w/gold flourishes on clearance.  The embellishments are Favorite Findings (on sale buy one get one free!)  So that's it for my last minute card, I think it turned out nice!  Thanks for stopping by and looking!  God bless!
