A Card to Help Ema Reach Her Goal

This past week I discovered a wonderful blog during a Tombow blog hop.  Ema over at Ema's-A-Creating, has set a goal of 300 cards for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.  What a fantastic idea! I love the idea of sending cards to help lift the spirits of the patients at St. Jude's.  So I created this little card to sent to Ema to deliver to St. Jude's, hoping  it will bring a smile to someone.

I used Tuesday Mornings Sketch #217 for my layout.  The image is Hang in There from Tiddly Inks.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The branch is part of a die cutting plate from Taylored Expressions, Shade Tree.  The birdies are from the Hang in There stamp set.  I fussy cut them out and popped them up with foam tape.  The background was embossed and I then lightly sponged on some white ink to add a little contrast.  Paper pierced around the background layer.  Stamped my sentiment on a cloud punch and added three little pearls in the corner.
If you would like to help Ema reach her goal of 300 cards, just hop on over to her blog and leave a message with your email.  She will let you know any details and where to mail the cards.
Thanks for stopping by my little blog!  God bless!!

Throwing Down Some LOL

So happy to receive my Sept. Layers of Life set from Unity this week!!  Love this set!! Had a little play time so I created a little something for Unity's FWF.  I was inspired by this weeks color challenge from Color Throwdown.
Doesn't quite look like what I had envisioned.  Guess I need more playtime!  Used some watercolor paper and some Distressed Markers to make a color washed background. Distressed some edges, embossed the orange background layer, then sanded and then swiped a  little SU Crumb cake on the raised areas.  (Crumb cake is as close to Spun Brown Sugar as I can get for the Color Throwdown) Added some twine and buttons.  Easy little fall card!
Thanks for stopping by and for leaving your comments!  Appreciate any new followers!  Have a blessed weekend!

Say What?

Used "Mouse Painter" from Hambo digital stamps and the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches to create this humorous birthday card.

 (inside)

I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The Hambo Hoedown challenge was to use decorative scissors.  I had to go in search of my decorative scissors, I haven't used them in ages!  I used my scissors around the circle and on the banner edges.  Added a little splatter to the circle, if you look really close you can see it.
Thanks for stopping by my little blog spot!  God bless!!

Gift Bag

Created a small gift bag using by Cricut and the snowflake from Flourishes Holiday Sparkle stamp set.  Perfect size for a gift card and a couple candy canes.
After cutting the bag shape with my Circut, I used the snowflake stamp and SU Baja Breeze to stamp an all over pattern.  Then scored and folded the bag.  I stamped a snowflake image on a piece of white card stock then fussy cut it out.  I then adhered the snowflake to matching blue card stock and fussy cut again leaving a small border.  I then added Liquid pearls, rhinestones and some Sakura  Gelly Roll pen to add some sparkle. to the tag.  Using white/silver twine, I tied the snowflake tag to the bag.
I think it looks cuter in person.

Swingin' by

Little card I created for this weeks Sassy Cheryl's Challenge - Off the page.
I used Noah's Tire Swing to create this birthday card.  This image reminds me of the tire swing we had as kids.  The inside says "with a birthday hi!".  Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  Fussy cut it out and popped it up with foam tape.  The sentiment was created in Microsoft word.  Simple little card.
Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog!  God bless!!

Holiday Sparkle

Had a little time to play with the Holiday Sparkle stamp set I received from Flourishes over the weekend. So I created this card....
using this card by Flourishes newest Senior Designer Allison Cope....6407110324fbb394d60d2a65972f0149
I used the pine branch stamp and Distressed Ink to create the background.  I die cut the edge with MFT snow drift die.  The ornament is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Sakura Gelly Roll pen for added sparkle.  I layered some gold ribbon on top of a red twill ribbon before adding the ornament and frame.  The image and frame are popped up with foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped on velum with gold ink then embossed with clear EP.  Added a couple gold gems to the sentiment tag.  Thanks Allison for the wonderful inspiration!
