Mojo Birthday card

Hello!!  I'm back!!
At least for one post!
My blog posts are few and far between lately.  Life just seems to get in the way of crafting, and it's hard to find time to steal away to my craft room.

I did happen to find a couple hours the other day to hide away and put together a little birthday card.  It felt sooooo good to be crafting again!!

I used the sketch over at Mojo Monday to help get the creative juices flowing again!

Here's a little birthday card I created with the help of the Mojo 464 sketch.

Sorry for the poor picture quality!  I used Verve's Plain Jane Happy Birthday (no longer available, so glad I grabbed it when I did!) and the flower stamps from Joyful Blooms as background on my sentiment panel.  I also used the heart border die from the Scalloped Trio die set.

So happy to have a little crafting time, what fantastic therapy!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed week!

TMS # 359

Happy Tuesday Morning!
I hope everyone had a very happy 4th of July!  Mine was filled with family and fireworks!

We have a great sponsor this week, Jennifer Tomasic, Close to My Heart demonstrator.
She'll be offering this stamp set to the randomly drawn winner.

We have a wonderful Tuesday Morning Sketch this week!

Patti has designed our sketch, and  I will admit I was stumped at first, but after playing around I really like how my card turned out!  This sketch looks great either vertical or horizontal.

I left off any sentiment so that the card can be used for any number of occasions.  I used Altenew's Persian Motifs to create a background.  Using black embossing powder, I heat embossed the images.  I used a water brush and Distress inks to color in the flowers. My seam binding ribbon was dyed with Distress ink and water.  I gathered the ribbon in the middle and added a pretty flower button to the center.  As you can see, this sketch looks great no matter which way you turn it!

Be sure to stop and see what the rest of the team has created for you!

Now it's your turn!  I can't wait to see your creation!

I am sad to say that this will be my last Tuesday Morning Sketch post. (at least for some time)
I have recently changed jobs and my daily commute time has increase by an hour and a half.  My actual work day has also increased from 6.5 hours a day to a full 8 hours.  Losing those 3 hours a day has been a little rough, so after much thought and prayer, I have decided to take a break from the Design Team.  This has not been an easy decision.  The TMS design team is an awesome bunch!  They have been supportive and understanding and I couldn't ask for a better team!  I will miss them!
Hopefully I will be back sometime in the future!

Thanks for all the wonderful support and encouragement over the last couple of years!

TMS and DRS!!

Happy Tuesday Morning everyone!
I am so happy to be back sharing another great Tuesday Morning Sketch!

Our sponsor this week is returning and resident sponsor, DRS Designs.  We love DRS Designs, their stamps are wonderful!  Such a wide variety of deeply etched red rubber stamps available in mounted and unmounted for your ease.  The prize is a $10 voucher.

So now for the sketch....

and my card....

I love this wreath image, so I decided to make my first Christmas card of the year with it!
I colored in the berries with Prismacolor pencils, then used my Misti to place the sentiment in the middle.  Some Stampin Up ribbon ties all the pieces together!

TMS 357 and Oddball!

Welcome back for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!!

We have a new sponsor to go with our new sketch!

Our sponsor this week is new to TMS.  Please welcome Oddball Art.  This a fun Etsy store where you can find the "perfect combo of sweet and sour glittering up the grunge" images.  These are great for those who prefer the eclectic and artsy.  The prize is 3 digis of winner's choice.

Here's the sketch that Patti created for us....

And here is my take....

I decided to use Oddball's image, Newsprint Flower to create a pretty background.  I colored the center part of the flowers with Copic markers.  I decided to go with a classic red and black color combo.  I used three red buttons for the small circle elements on the sketch.
I left off any sentiment so this card can be used for a wide variety of purposes.
This was a fun and easy card to create!

Happy Tuesday Morning!
Yes, I know it's a little late, but life is going full tilt right now and I just couldn't get the card done on time!  So let's get to this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch!

We have another great sketch this week and Melissa has a fun prize for one random entry!

If you're like me, you have lots of graduation cards to make.  We have a full calendar this year when it comes to graduation open houses!

So I used this week's sketch to make one of the many cards I need!

The card actually came together quickly after I finally had time to sit down and create!  I used a Unity Itty Bitty stamp set for the compass image and a little wood veneer heart charm for the accent piece.  On the inside he sentiment reads " Go in the direction of your heart".  No coloring this week, just stamp and go!

Be sure to stop by and see what he rest of the DT created this week!

Hello everyone!
Welcome back for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!!
,
We have a fun and simple sketch this week from Patti.  Patti is also sponsoring this week!!

Want a chance to win this awesome prize?  Just create a card using this sketch.....

Link you creation up over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and you will be put in the random prize drawing.  It's that easy!

Now for my card....

I used the stamp set Uplifting from Skipping Stones Design.  I stamped the hills on some patterned paper from my stash then fussy cut it and adhered it to my sky panel.  I created my sky using Distressed inks and a blending tool.  I then stamped the puffy border stamp from the same set to create some clouds.  I colored the hot air balloon with Copics, fussy cut it out and popped it up with foam tape.  The "grass" on the hills is from a little stamp from Purple Onion Designs.
Such a fun and easy card!

TMS #348 Landscape

Welcome back Tuesday Morning Sketches fans!
Are you ready for another creative sketch?
This week's sketch is one from Debbie and it's a good one!

Our sponsor this week is Patti and she's offering the cutest stamp set to one randomly drawn winner.  This is a CTMH stamp set  called Balloon Animals. Don't these look fun?!

And now for the sketch....

I used a silhouette image from an old stamp set called Country Road from Flourishes Stamps.  Unfortunately, Flourishes is no longer in business.  I love this image!  I used black embossing powder to heat emboss the image.  I then used Distress Inks and a water brush to create a pretty water-colored sun rise.  I used washi tape for my diagonal element.  I also moved the bow element up to the corner of my image panel, so not to distract from the image.

Be sure to stop and see what the rest of the team has created this week, and leave them a little love!

Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see what you create and be sure to enter so you can be in the running for the cute Balloon Animal stamp set from CTMH!

And now for the sketch!

I used the cute Lacy Sunshine image EmmiLou Boo.  I colored the image with Prismacolor colored pencils and gamsol.  I added a "sending you" sentiment and on the inside added "a little bit of sunshine".  I used some paper from my stash and some scraps of burlap to add to the country feel.

I fell in love with the digital stamps from A Day for Daisies and I think you will too!

Now, onto the sketch!

I used the adorable Breeze in Spring image for my card.  I colored  the image with Prismacolor pencils, blending the colors with gamsol.  I added a few sequins and a button and bow accent.  For my strip I used seam binding ribbon and lace.  I used some Distress ink to "age" the white lace.

Melissa has some Speckled Fawn goodies to give away to one lucky participant!
She has a Speckled Fawn Embellishment pouch up for grabs!

Now here's this week's sketch...

and here's my take....

Such a great CAS sketch! I used supplies from my stash of Verve goodies to create my card.
The tag was cut using Verve's Sweet Scalloped Die.  I used black embossing powder to emboss the flowers from the Kind Words set.  I then inked up the tag using Distress Inks.  I added some gems and some twine and a little birthday greeting.  Popped up the tag with foam tape.  I also inked around the edges of the base panel with more Distress Ink.

Now it's time to check out the other cards made by the TMS Design Team!!

TMS and Di's Digis!

Woohoo!! It's Tuesday Morning!
Welcome back for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!

We have a great sketch by Debbie this week.
We also have a fantastic and adorable sponsor, Di's Digi Stamps!
She has some of the cutest digi stamps and you have the chance to win a $12.00 voucher to her store!

I used this week's sketch to create another Easter card.

I used this adorable bunny digital stamp from Di's Digis.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  I stamped my sentiment on the label die then used some twine to give it a tied on look.
I decide to go with an oval shape in place of the rectangle.  The oval is more of an Easter egg shape!  I used a floral embossing folder on the oval panel then popped up my bunny image on top of that.
I am thinking about adding a little glitter to those flowers, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the wonderful cards the rest of the DT made!

Wishing everyone a very blessed and joyous Easter!! God bless!!

Happy Tuesday Morning!
Time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!!

I am so happy to welcome two new designers to the Tuesday Morning Sketches team!
A big welcome to Wanda and Patti!
Be sure to scroll to their links toward the bottom of my post and welcome them to our team!

We also have a new sponsor, here's a little info about Craftin' Desert Divas from Melissa.

We have a new sponsor this week, too.  I am so excited that Tara of Craftin' Desert Divas agreed to sponsor us!  She has an absolutely wonderful shop.  I love the images available in her store and tons of dies, too.  Wonderful place to just spend hours looking around.  When you do, be sure to have plenty of napkins on hand because you'll be drooling over all the goodies, starting with their $1.99 sequin mixes!

Now lets get to it!

So it dawned on me that Easter will be here soon and I don't have any Easter cards ready!
This sketch provided just what I needed to remedy that!  I inked up a die cut circle with some Distress Inks to create a sunrise.  The crosses were die cut from some black card stock.  I dyed some seam binding ribbon with the ink left on my craft mat from inking up the circle.  I stamped a little Easter sentiment on the round tag and popped it up with foam tape.  A little embossing, a little inking, and a little layering and wallah!

Now it's time to visit the other DT members, they have some amazing cards to share with you!

TMS and DRS Beach Holiday

Yay! It's time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!!

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs and the prize is $10 voucher to use in their store!

This week's sketch was designed by our very own Jessi!

I will admit that I found this sketch a little bit challenging!  I just couldn't the my mojo to kick in!

I used the DRS image Brushed Beach Sunrise, such a fun image to watercolor!
So I really struggled with the accent elements.  I finally decided on waves and water splashes, after all it's a beach themed card.  I used my Silhouette to cut wave and splash designs.  I added a little bit of white Wink of Stella to some of the waves so that they would stand out a little more.
I also added a little bit of doodling to the outside edges of the card.

Now it's time to hop on over to the other DT blogs, they have some amazing cards to share!

We have a fun one this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Here's what I created

I used the fun Make it Snappy Birthday image.  I colored the image with Copics, cut it out and popped it up with some fun foam.  I also popped up the banners with foam tape.  This is a great sketch to use up some of those paper scrapes!

TMS#340 with Digital Delights

Welcome back!  It's Tuesday and you know what that means!?  It's time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch!

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo!

Here is this week's sketch.

and my card...

I used the Digital Delight image Farmer Mitzy for my card.  I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette cutting machine to cut out the image, so much better then fussy cutting!  I colored the image with Copics then popped it up on my little scene panel.  I created a little scene behind my farmer with a fence stamp, a grass die and a cloud stencil. (little bit of everything in that scene!) Some twill ribbon and twine I colored with Distress ink make up the lower horizontal element of the sketch. (yes, I goofed and forgot it was suppose to be the sentiment panel!) I also added a fun wavy stitch pattern with a stitched die from MFT.   My sentiment was stamped using the Misti stamping tool.

Paint along - Mountain

Here is my mountain painting from Sandy Allnock's Paint Along Series #3

I really struggled with this one!  I like the way the mountains and sky turned out, not so much my lake and tree line.  This has been a great learning experience for me, since I've never really water colored before.  Thanks Sandy for taking the time to video these paint along lessons!

Paint Along Day 2 - Lighthouse

Sharing my Day 2 painting from Sandy Allnock's Paint Along Series.

I hesitated to share this because I was thinking it looked to amateurish.  Then I realized, I am an amateur!  So here is my day two painting.  I still have a long way to go, and a lot more to learn, but it's more about the fun then the perfection!

I am also sharing this on The Daily Markers 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
