Inky Background

My third card is a stab at creating a sponged background.  I had some trouble with this one, I really need more practice!  Do you think anyone will notice the family of dust bunnies living in the corner, while I practice? :)
Here's my card:
This stamp is from the Kids at Play set.  Reminds me of my younger years playing outside with my sister and 5 brothers.  I do not have a very big inventory when it comes to ink pads.  So I did the best I could with the colors I had.  I found this technique challenging but fun.
Thanks for checking out my entry in Flourishes Birthday Challenge!  Blessings!

Take 10

This Flourishes Birthday Challenge was to make a card in 10 minutes.  I did not officially time myself, since I am always unsure when you're given 10 minutes, do you start timing when you first come up with an idea and start to gather all your supplies or do you start the time once you have everything gathered and actually start the card?  Anyhow this was a very simple and quick card.
First I painted a piece of watercolor paper with some Tombow markers and my water brush.  This is a super quick and easy way to create a colorful background.  While that dried I cut a piece of patterned paper for the front of the card.  I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with an oval punch then layered it on another oval.  Die cut a heart from some scrap paper.  I inked the edges of the ovals and the heart.   Punched holes in both sides of the oval and strung through some bakers twine.  Added a few butterfly stickers.  Stamped the little girl image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  I did not get solid coverage b/c of the texture of the watercolor paper.  Cut the image out using MFT banner die. I then tried adding some doodled lines to the banner so it did not "hide" in the patterned paper.  I think I need more doodling practice!  The patterned paper and stickers helped make this a super quick and easy card to make.
Thanks for stopping by again!! God bless!!

Black and White

Flourishes is celebrating their 6th Birthday!  There's still a little time to join in the fun! Check out the birthday challenges here.  I was going to try and do just one more challenge; as I starting looking at the challenges and some of the inspiration, I ended up in a card making craze and completed three more challenges instead of just one.  So this is one post of three!
Here is the card I created for the Black and White challenge.
This is the first black and white card I've ever created.  Not sure why I have never tried a black and white scheme before, maybe because I like to color and I'm a sucker for patterned papers.  After looking at some of the entries I thought, why not?  I stamped the flowers from the Garden Gate set across the top of a pre-cut strip of white card stock.  I stamped part of the image one direction then flipped the stamp and stamped the other side. Then I cut away the bottom portion of the flower image and spritzed with glimmer mist.  Cut some b/w patterned paper, adhered a strip of lace across the top of the patterned paper.  My stamped image is adhered with foam tape.  Stamped the sentiment, punched it out with my SU label punch, add a couple black gems and adhered it to the corner with more foam tape.  Really quick since there was no coloring and no trying to decide which shade of this or that looks better together!
Thanks for stopping by! God bless!!

Garden Gate

Here's my card for the Flourishes Birthday Challenge - Six for Six.  There's still time to play along and join in the birthday fun, so head on over to Flourishes and check it out!  I'm hoping to have time to play along one more time. (fingers crossed!)
7-26Graphic

For the Six for Six challenge you need to include all six elements: sketch, colors, favorite Flourishes stamp, bling, ribbon or twin and embossing (dry or heat).  I had to flip the sketch in order to fit my favorite Flourishes stamp, Garden Gate.  Used Distressed inks and patterned paper to match the colors.  My green fishtail banner is dry embossed with a Swiss dot embossing folder.  My peach banner is ribbon I received in a Flourishes grab bag.  Added some twine and some little gems to the image panel.
Happy Birthday Flourishes!! Wishing you many more!!
Thanks for taking time to stop by! Blessings to you and yours!

Monkey Business

Here's my entry into Tuesday Morning Sketches #208.

Used Hero Arts Playful Animals clear set to create this birthday card.  Embossed the brown layer with a wood grain embossing folder.   Swiped a little bit of Colorbox Mix'd Media Honey across the grain to give it more dimension and to variegate the color.  Colored the monkey with Prismacolor pencils.  The vine along the bottom was punched with a Martha Steward punch then inked up with some Distressed Ink and some Cat's Eye chalk ink.  Colored the twine "vine"with some Distressed marker the hung the monkey from that. The leaves are from the set with the monkey, so I fussy cut some out and add a few flowers.

Unity Show and Tell

Here's a little card I made with the free digital stamp Unity is giving away this week for their CHA  challenge.  If you haven't check out Unity's Show and Tell Facebook page, you really need to!!  Lots of sharing going on!
My background turned out a little darker than I intended.  Printed the image twice on watercolor paper then colored with my Tombow markers and a water brush.  After I was done coloring, I fussy cut the grouping of flowers from one of the image and spritzed it with some glitter mist.  Added some Sakura Gelly Roll pen to the "netting" part of the stamp to give it some glitz.  Popped up the flowers for dimension and added some pearls.

Best Fishes for a Happy Birthday

Used Hambo Hoedown's challenge 124 sketch to create this punny birthday card!  Best Fishes for a very happy birthday!!

Used one of the birds from Hambo's Fish Birds digital stamp.  Colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  My washi tape supply is very small, so I used strips of paper to imitate washi tape.  Also entering this in Craft Your Passion Challenge 172 - Happy Birthday.  Found this challenge blog through Birdie Brown.

Happy Thoughts

Check out this super cute image I won from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps!  I think this little boy is adorable!  Thanks to Sassy Cheryl's for the wonderful prize! Thanks Cards in Envy for selecting my card as an "in the mailbox" card!
TMS Top 5
I used this week's sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This week TMS also includes a twist, which is use an animal.  I hope the little duck counts!  Colored my image with Prismacolor pencils.  Added a little Glossy Accents to the water ripples.  The cattail embellishments are from the digital image.  I just made them bigger and cut them out.  That is the best thing about digital, you can adjust the size!  This week I also came across the Cards in Envy challenge blog.  They challenge you to make 4A cards that will fit in an envelope that can be mailed without extra postage.  The total thickness is limited to 1/4 inch or less.   Love this idea since 90% of my cards get mailed.

Mini cards

Created a set of three mini cards for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - Make it Mini!  It was fun to work on something small!  Made three little 3X3 CAS cards.
Using colors from this weeks Color Throwdown and some Sentiment from Unity's Dutch Mustard Soup set, to create these little cuties! The tree is from Hero Arts, I believe the name is Spring Tree. Used the smallest MFT banner die for the banners.  Simple little cards!
Thanks for taking time to stop and see what I've been up to! God bless!!

What's Up?

Thanks Sassy Cheryl's for the prize!
One last card for this weekend.  Posting my last take on the Tuesday Morning Sketches Birthday Challenge.
Also participating in Sweet and Sassy's July Release Challenge #1, Use the sun; and Sassy Cheryl's Hats On challenge.
Used a digi from Sassy Cheryl's called Max is Flying High.  Love this image because my DH has an ultalight aircraft he built and flies, so I love anything with planes.  It also reminds me of when my kids were small and boxes would keep them busy for hours on end! I had to flip the sketch upside down to make this card.  Since I do not have a sun die, I improvised and used one of my Spellbinders Sprightly Sprocket dies.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.
Thanks for looking! Have a blessed week!

Fin-tastic Day!

Lovein' these cute dolphins from Birdie Brown! They're the July freebie, so you better go get 'em while you can!  One more card using the Tuesday Morning Sketches birthday celebration sketches.
Flipped the sketch for this card.  My sentiment is in the wrong spot than the sketch shows, so I hope that's ok.  I need to learn to double check the sketch and not try to go by memory!!  The "waves" are a Sizzix die cut from some blue vellum I found in my stash.  Splattered some blue ink on the image panel for a splashed effect.  I didn't have any yellow twine, so I made some with some natural twine and a yellow Tombow maker.  Added a few crystals for sparkle.  I think it turned out cute!
Thanks for taking the time to check out my work.  God bless!

Used this weeks Hambo Hoedown image, "Bad Connection" and one of the sketches from Tuesday Morning Sketches 4 year Celebration to create this card.  The colors came from this weeks color challenge over at Color Throwdown.  TMS and CT are both celebrating this week so check them out, TONS of prizes!

This weeks challenge at Hambo required you to use office supplies, so I used paper clips and a rubber band.  Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.  Tried to keep my colors as close to the SU colors in the Throwdown challenge.  Used MFT dies to cut the banners.

Limes

Love this Itty Bitty stamp set by Unity, makes me smile!
Playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.  They are having a birthday celebration this week with LOTS of prizes! Go check it out! Here are the sketches you can use.

Played with some new Cat Eye inks to create the background.  It's hard to make out, but I tried the masking tape technique also.  Used a little Dylusion spray ink.  The images are colored with prismacolor pencils with a little Tombow marker thrown in.  Some twine and gems and it's done! Quick and easy!

Love Truly

Yay! Got to play with my new LOL set! I actually mixed and matched the new set with lasts month's set.  Love the LOL stamps!  Here's my FWF project.
.
The colors I used came from the current challenge over at Color Throwdown; Challenge #250.  Just found this blog and decided to play along.
Since I don't own any SU paper, I used the closest colors I could find.  I do have a few SU inks, and I happen to have Melon Mambo and Crumb Cake.  I used Melon Mambo on the heart and the heart border.  I used Crumb Cake to stamp the sentiment and I used it on the background paper also.  The tag I colored with some gelatos, tried to pick a color similar to Bermuda Bay.  The yellow background was made using some Cat's Eye ink I recently purchased.  Added a few buttons and trim.

Anniversary card

This is my first window card.  I always thought they looked really neat, but I just never tried making one.  So here goes....
The image is from Flourishes Garden Gate set.  I colored it using my Distressed markers and blender pen.  After I was done coloring, I misted it with shimmer spritz to add an all over sparkle.  Doesn't show up in the picture, but it looks awesome!  Cut out the window, then used a swiss dot embossing folder to add texture to the panel.  I then adhered the panel to the card base with foam tape.  Used a piece of scrap paper and white EP for the sentiment.  Used clear EP on the heart and used the emboss/resist technique when coloring it.  Added a flower button and a couple tiny heart buttons for accents.
Thanks for stopping my little corner of blog land!  God bless!!

Thank a Veteran

Another Veteran thank you card.  Used the 300th sketch over at Mojo Monday to create this thank you card.

Used silver EP to emboss the eagle from SU's  The Free and The Brave set.  Colored the Eagle with markers and pencils.  Distressed the edges of the layers and inked them with Memento brown ink.  The stars were cut with my Cricut then inked with Fired Brick Distressed ink.  The Thank You sentiment is from Verve.  I used MFT Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers Stax for the sentiment banner.  Added a little MFT hemp cord to the end of the banner.

Happy Anniversary

Tried my hand at making a round card.  Only the second one I've ever made; turned out a little small, but its cute!
I used the Egg stamp from Flourishes Easter Wishes set to stamp and fussy cut the flower from the image.  Colored the image using Prismacolor pencils. The background paper is from Echo Park For the Record.  Stamped the sentiment with Fired Brick Distressed Ink.  Added a little polka dotted bow.  The flowers are popped up with foam tape.  I also added a little homemade glitter glue to the little yellow flower buds.  Giving this card to my parents who will be celebrating the 52nd Anniversary this year!   I am blessed to have such a great example to follow!

Loved

Found a little time to play tonight.  Used sketch #300 from Mojo Monday for my layout.  There is a BIG celebration going on over at Mojo Monday, head on over and check it out!

Used a couple stamps from Unity to create this "You are Loved" card.  Hope it cheers up the recipient!
Not sure of the name of the string of hearts stamp.  I received it in a grab bag, lucky me! I love this stamp.  Stamped it on water color paper and used some water color pencils to color it.  The sentiment is from an Itty Bitty set called Bitty Regards.  Used some SU Crumb Cake to ink up the edges of the layers.  Added some piercing around the sheet music panel and the circle.  The heart on the sentiment is a Dazzle Sticker layered on some of the background paper and cut out.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my card!  Have a blessed weekend!

Red, White and Blue

Playing along with the Hambo Hoedown and Tuesday Morning Sketches.  The Hoedown challenge was to use red, white and blue.  This is the sketch from Tuesday Morning

Here is my card.  Came together really quick. (a little to quick by the looks of the inside, I matted the sentiment crooked and didn't notice it until it was too late.  Oh well, if I wanted perfect I would have bought a card!)

Used the Hambo digi "Mouse Painter" to create this not so typical 4th of July card.  Colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Added a strip of white card stock with a strip of washi tape down the center.  Added a few gold Dazzle star stickers to the washi tape and the image panel.  Popped the sentiment and image up with foam tape.  Inside I added a sentiment label.  Quick and easy, gotta love that!
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a blessed 4th of July!

Hugs and Kisses

Quick little card using the pictures from this Pinterest Board.

This is what I came up with:
Used my Tombow Jelly Bean markers and water brush tor create the rainbow background.  Adhered the background to the card base with some Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue.  Adhered the heart using the same glue.  Popped the sentiment label and image up with foam tape.  Added a few gem rain drops.
