TMS #230 Last Challenge for 2013

Happy Tuesday Morning! Merry Christmas Eve!
Today I am sharing the card I made for the last Challenge of 2013 for Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Before I go any further, I would like to apologize for the poor picture quality.  I received a new camera as a Christmas gift and I have a whole lot of learning to do!

Now, about the challenge; TMS Challenge #230 will be open for 2 weeks.  Things get a little crazy this time of year, so we're giving you some extra time to play along.  It is an anything goes challenge.  So there is no sketch to follow, no twist to add, just show us your creativity, maybe try something new!  Melissa has $10.00 Michael's gift card for the winner!

For my card, I went out of my comfort zone and made a one layer card.  I rarely make one layer cards, not sure why, but I don't.
I needed some Christmas thank you notes and I wanted to play with my Distress inks, so here is the result.

I used some sticky notes to mask off a strip in the center of the card.  I used Versamark ink and clear EP on the snowflakes.  I then used the emboss/resist technique and inked up the masked area with Tumbled Glass and Story Sky Distress Inks.  I stamped my sentiment then used my Scor Buddy to emboss a line above and below the image area.  Don't look to close, you will see where I embossed a little to far and went into the sentiment!  No bling, no glitter just a quick little CAS card!

Hope you find a little time to play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches!
Wishing you have a very Merry Christmas!  God bless you in the new year!

  1. Gorgeous, Kris!! One layer cards just feel intimidating sometimes, but you rocked it. YAY on the new camera! I know I still haven't learned everything mine can do, but cameras these days are so much easier than they used to be. You'll be comfy with it in no time. Merry Christmas to you & your family!!

  2. Fantastic one layer card Kris, the snowflakes are beautiful.

  3. You'd think one layer cards would be easier, but I agree... they are not!!!
But you did great! This is wonderful!

Thank you for your comments, they warm my heart!
