Violet in the Snow

"So many years ago,
in Bethlehem,
a baby came,
like a violet in the snow"

This weeks challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs was to create a card inspired by a song.  I really wanted to use a non-Christmas stamp to make a Christmas card and one of my favorite Christmas songs is Violet in the Snow.  So here is what I came up with using the song Violet in the Snow as my inspiration.
Shining the Light Challenge Award
The snow banks were cut with MFT snow drift die.  The violet image is from Our Daily Bread Designs and colored with Distressed markers and Prismacolor pencils. The "snow" on the violets is white gel pen and Smooch Shimmer ink.  Die cut an oval opening and then embossed the top panel.  The snowflakes are Dazzle stickers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!  God bless!

  3. Oh, my, Kris! I had never heard of this song as well and just had to Google it and listen to it! Wow! It's wonderful and surely tells the story of Christ's coming! I love it! And this is such a beautiful card that truly expresses the violet in the snow in that song! So glad you've joined us this week for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge! Hugs, Cheryl
