Splattered Thank You

My daughter needs a few thank you cards for her birthday, so I decided to try something new.
This is one of those times when it goes a lot better in your head than on the paper!!
Not happy with the results, but decided to share anyway.
Maybe someone has some helpful hints to share?!

I decided to join to CAS challenges....
CAS(E) this Sketch and
CASology

Here's my card!
Ugh!!

Ok, so I decided to try my hand and a cut-away card, using this heart border die (sorry I don't know who made the die!) After totally scrapping the first two tries, this is what I ended up with.  I've not done the splatter technique to often.  I've learned I need a lot bigger work space when I splatter!!  Very messy!!!

Needless to say, this is the only thank you card like this.  I will be making more but not like this!
I had lots of trouble adhering the heart border since it is so delicate.  If anyone has suggestions, please comment!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
God bless!!

  2. I find red mist REALLY hard to splatter without making a mess! I happen to love how this turned out, even though it gave you fits :) As for the intricate die, I have two ideas - a mini-Xyron sticker maker (Michaels has them for about $10, I think, and if you use them just for stuff like this it's not too expensive an option). Or, a 2-way glue pen (Zig makes a blue one, or there's a Quickie Glue Pen by Sakura). They both have a small nib so only a smidge of glue comes out at a time, and they hold card stock really well.

    1. Thanks Jessi! I did use a Quickie Glue pen on it, but it didn't hold very well. Usually I have good luck with the Quickie pen, but it was popping off the paper the next morning. Will need to try the Xyron if there is a next time!
