Time to say thank you!

Had a little constructive play time this weekend.  It's time to get the Christmas thank you cards made.  Used the sketch from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club and my new Berries stamp from Technique Tuesdays Greenhouse Society to create another Christmas thank you card.
MFTWSC156

Inked up the edges of my card base and the edges of my patterned paper with Gathered Twigs Distressed Ink.  Added some Old Paper Distressed ink to the doily for a vintage look.  Stamped my image on some textured card stock.  Added some white Prismacolor pencil and some Barn Door Distressed marker to the image.  Minimal coloring made for a quick card!  This simple image has quickly become one of my favorites! Cut a strip of patterned paper and strip of card stock.  Inked the card stock with Distressed ink and adhered it to the strip of patterned paper.  Stamped the sentiment then adhered the sentiment strip to the image panel.  Popped the panel up with foam tape to finish off the card.

TMS #230 Last Challenge for 2013

Happy Tuesday Morning! Merry Christmas Eve!
Today I am sharing the card I made for the last Challenge of 2013 for Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Before I go any further, I would like to apologize for the poor picture quality.  I received a new camera as a Christmas gift and I have a whole lot of learning to do!

Now, about the challenge; TMS Challenge #230 will be open for 2 weeks.  Things get a little crazy this time of year, so we're giving you some extra time to play along.  It is an anything goes challenge.  So there is no sketch to follow, no twist to add, just show us your creativity, maybe try something new!  Melissa has $10.00 Michael's gift card for the winner!

For my card, I went out of my comfort zone and made a one layer card.  I rarely make one layer cards, not sure why, but I don't.
I needed some Christmas thank you notes and I wanted to play with my Distress inks, so here is the result.

I used some sticky notes to mask off a strip in the center of the card.  I used Versamark ink and clear EP on the snowflakes.  I then used the emboss/resist technique and inked up the masked area with Tumbled Glass and Story Sky Distress Inks.  I stamped my sentiment then used my Scor Buddy to emboss a line above and below the image area.  Don't look to close, you will see where I embossed a little to far and went into the sentiment!  No bling, no glitter just a quick little CAS card!

For more inspiration be sure to visit the rest of the TMS Design Team.

Hope you find a little time to play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches!
Wishing you have a very Merry Christmas!  God bless you in the new year!

TMS #229

Happy Tuesday! Time for another challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches!  Melissa has another fun sketch for you to play with this week, and we have another awesome sponsor - Sweet and Sassy Stamps!!

For this weeks card I used Sweet and Sassy's set "Born this Day".  I love this set, not only does it have this adorable manger image, it has lots of Christmas greetings and sentiments! I used Distress markers and a water brush to create a soft, watercolor look.  Die cut the star from gold foil paper and popped it up with a foam square.  Embossed the blue panel, die cut the bottom edge of the light craft panel. The gold embossed craft paper is from DCWV.  The greeting was stamped on a banner die cut then popped up by scoring and folding each end of the banner.  Now to get this card in the mail! Yes, I'm late again this year!!

I hope you take the time to play along this week, we look forward to seeing what you create! (and you could win a great prize from Sweet and Sassy Stamps!)

Thanks for stopping by.  For more wonderful inspiration, be sure to stop by the other design team member's blogs.

Quick little post to share another Christmas card.  You may recognize the layout, it's Tuesday Morning Sketches #228.  Great sketch for making a few last minute Christmas cards.

Used Sassy Cheryl's Image "The Perfect Christmas Gift".  Colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Added some Stickles to the star for added sparkle.  Applied some Liquid Applique to create "snow".  A little sponging and stitching, a seam binding bow and a snowflake and another card ready to go!
So sorry for the poor picture quality, had to take the picture at night.

You Are Old!

Made a birthday card for my brother-in-law with some of my Unity goodness.  Used this month's Be Inspired sketch to create this vintage birthday card.

Used Consider Yourself Vintage and You are Worth It to create this card.  Used my diamond plate embossing folder on the teal squares and added some Vintage Photo distress ink around all the layers.
Spritz the newsprint panel with Walnut stain.
Pretty quick and easy.

Born in a Manger

Sharing a card I made using sketch # 9 from Seize the Sketch.  Played with my newest stamps from Sweet and Sassy, Music Background and Born this Day.

Used Versamark to stamp the Music Background and then embossed with clear EP.  Used Iced Spruce Distress Ink and the emboss/resist technique to create the background panel.  The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Used my Gelli pen to add sparkle to the star.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.
May the love of a tiny baby, born in a manger, fill your heart with joy this Christmas season!

Star of Wonder

Welcome back to another Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge!  Hope everyone had a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!  We enjoyed a quiet family dinner, very relaxing and enjoyable.
Everyone survive the Black Friday craziness?  I opted to stay home and do a little Internet shopping.
Onto this weeks challenge!  Our sponsor this week is the totally adorable Stamp Fairy!  Head on over and check out all her super cute digital stamps, and double bonus, she is having a sale!!
For this weeks sketch I used Stamp Fairy's Barry Best Friends 1

.
This card has a lot of sparkle and shine that just doesn't show up in the picture.  The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils; I then fussy cut around the bears and ground.  I used Distress inks to create a night sky.  Adhered the image cut out to the "sky" panel, then used a circle die to cut it all out.  Layered my image circle onto a circle of silver card stock.  Added a die cut star, some gelly roll pen dots to resemble other stars and embossed the ground with "snow" using my versamark marker and white tinsel EP.  Used my Sizzix flourish die and pale blue vellum, a few star embellies and gems to create the corner flourish embellishment.  Embossed some blue shimmer paper with snowflakes and added a strip of silver ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you take time to play along with us this week at TMS!  I'd love to see how this weeks sketch inspires your!

Little Village Christmas Shoppes

Used my newest Tiddly Ink purchase to create a little snowy village scene.  This is not the scene from Black Friday!!  The shoppes were all hustle and bustle today!  This depicts a snowy evening, when the shoppes are closed for the night, peaceful and quiet.  Drew some inspiration from Jan R's card.
Printed one of the digital stamps from the Harmony at Home pack on some mixed media paper.  Used distress markers and my water brush to color most of the image. I then fussy cut out the image along the roof tops and layered it onto my background.  The background was created with gelatos and water, added some white gel pen for the falling snow.  The snow on the ground and roof tops was created with my Versamark pen and white tinsel EP.  Layered the scene onto some black card stock and adhered it to my card base.  Added a little sentiment to the corner.

Snowflake Greetings

Quick post to squeeze in another Christmas card using this weeks CAS(e) sketch.

The snowflake pattern paper made this card easy peasy!  Die cut the sizzix label out of red glimmer paper.  Die cut two sizzix snowflakes.  Added glitter glue to one layer and Gelly Roll pen to the small center piece.  A strip of silver glitter paper and some silver ribbon and call it done.  The papers and dies I used are all from my stash.  The only new item on this card is the silver ribbon.

My First TMS Design Team Post! TMS #225

I am super excited to announce I am part of the Tuesday Morning Sketches Design Team!  TMS was one of the very first challenges I entered when I started back into card making about a year or so ago.  I always enjoy their sketches and was thrilled when Melissa asked me to join the team! I am so happy to be part of such a talented group!  So without further ado here is my first post as a TMS Design Team Member.

This week TMS #225 is sponsored by Paper Pretties.
For my card I used the extremely cute digital stamp Hialeah.  This adorable image also comes with three sentiments.  I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I added some faux stitching to the scalloped square die cut layer.  Dyed my own seam binding with Dried Marigold Distress Ink.  Punched the sentiment out with a SU label punch. Added a couple gem flowers and a butterfly charm.
Be sure to stop by the other TMS Designers blogs and see their wonderful projects!

Now it's your turn!  We can't wait to see what you create! I hope you join in the fun at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Happy Thanksgiving

Used the Sketch from Viva la Verve Nov 2013 Week 2 and my Sept. LOL kit to create this Thanksgiving card.
Got a little inky creating this card.  All the panels were created by sponging on Distressed inks and then stamping on the panel or flicking water onto the panel to create a great splatter effect.  Stamped the leaves on colored paper and fussy cut them out, then popped them up using foam tape.  Added a few brads I received in a grab bag from Flourishes and a piece of twill ribbon I've had in my stash for years.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the Internet! God bless!!

Created this little CAS card tonight.  Drew my inspiration from the current challenges at Seize the Sketch and CAS-ology.
A little embossing and some paper scraps and this little card came right together! Made the tree from 3 triangles cut from scrap paper.  Stamped the sentiment with Versafine and embossed some lines on the red panel using my Scor-Pal.

Thanks A Bunch!

Used Sketch Saturday's sketch #284 to create this cheerful thank you note.  The flowers are from the digital stamp set, Celebrate Joyfully - Emma, from Tiddly Inks.  I copied and flipped and maneuvered the image until I had a cute flower garden.
The image is colored with Tombow markers.  The sentiment is from an old set I purchased from Paper Wishes.  I colored the flower button with a Copic marker before attaching it to the card.  Added a little paper piercing around the blue mat and popped up the image panel with foam tape.

Elephants Never Forget

When I saw this cute Elephant from Hambo Stamps I just had to get him!  CAS(E) this Sketch #53 gave me the inspiration to use it.

Since I am usually late on mailing birthday cards, I thought this cute elephant from Hambo Stamps would make a fun belated birthday card. Used some patterned paper from SU.  The elephant is colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The sentiment (inside and out) were created in MS Word.  Quick and easy CAS card.

Just had to play with this new digi from Sassy Cheryl's, Santa's Winking Star.  Such a cute Santa!
When I say Retro Sketch #88, I knew I had to use it with this digital stamp.
The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Added glossy accent to the holly on Santa's hat.  Covered the star with homemade glitter glue.  Stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with gold EP.

Violet in the Snow

"So many years ago,
in Bethlehem,
a baby came,
like a violet in the snow"

This weeks challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs was to create a card inspired by a song.  I really wanted to use a non-Christmas stamp to make a Christmas card and one of my favorite Christmas songs is Violet in the Snow.  So here is what I came up with using the song Violet in the Snow as my inspiration.
Shining the Light Challenge Award
The snow banks were cut with MFT snow drift die.  The violet image is from Our Daily Bread Designs and colored with Distressed markers and Prismacolor pencils. The "snow" on the violets is white gel pen and Smooch Shimmer ink.  Die cut an oval opening and then embossed the top panel.  The snowflakes are Dazzle stickers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!  God bless!

Snowy Meadow

As I was following some of my favorite bloggers this past week, I stumbled upon The House That Stamps Built Blog, and their What if? Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I really like the sketch so I thought I'd play along and finish another Christmas card in the process.
20131029-211940.jpg
I just purchased this Technique Tuesday stamp set, Growing Wild, and thought it would make a pretty snowy evening scene.  I created the evening sky with Distressed inks.  The snow mound I created with Prismacolor pencils, Gelatos, and a little Smooth Pearlized ink.  The snow on the grass and flowers was created with a white gel pen. Used Spellbinders ovals to die cute the image and a white mat.  The papers are from a kit I purchased from Paper Wishes a couple years ago.  Added a little iridescent ribbon and a little sentiment tag and wallah!  I was happy with the finished card!

Birthday Basket

Created a birthday card for my wonderful sister-in-law!  Used the sketch from MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and stamps from Unity's KOTM Feb. 2013.
MFTWSC148
Stamped and masked the basket before adding the flowers.  Colored the image with TH Distressed markers.  Used a circle die to cut out the image, then sponged on some Scattered Straw Distressed ink before removing the image from the die.  The sentiment was stamped using Versamark and a sentiment set I purchased at HL years ago.  The sentiment tag and the center flowers are popped up with foam tape.  Added some Pearlized Smooch ink to the flower centers.

Pink Christmas

Went with some non-traditional colors for this Christmas card.  Here is my take on this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketch.

The pink and blue snowflake were heat embossed using silver EP.  Then sponged on some distressed ink. The banner and sentiment were heat embossed using clear EP, then sponged on some ink.  The snowflake under the banner was die cut then I added some homemade glitter glue.  If you look close you can see some small white snowflakes on the background paper.  A few sequins to finish it off.

A Child is Born

Another Christmas card done! Used Unity's  Itty Bitty A Child is Born and MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch to create this square Christmas card.

MFTWSC147
It looks much better in person.  The rays were sponges on in gold metallic ink and the the panel was spritz with glimmer mist so it has more sparkle than the picture shows.  Used Distressed inks to sponge the sentiment banner and the manger.  Added a brad and gold perfect pearls for the star.

Little Sprout!

The Hambo Hoedown challenge was to create a baby themed card using a non-traditional image.  So the first thing I did was search for a synonym for baby and child.  One of the synonyms was "sprout", which then brought this Bear Farmer image to mind.  Since I hadn't played with this image yet I was happy to use it.
The sentiments were created on the computer.  The image is colored with prisma color pencils.  I hand dyed the seam binding using distressed ink.
